History:As a result of the 2000 Kentucky Legislative Session, the state Mental Health & Aging Coalition was created and over the next several years approximately ten regions in the state developed regional Mental Health & Aging Coalitions.In 2004, Seven Counties Services, Inc., a regional community mental health center and the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA), collaborated to create a coalition for the KIPDA region.This region is comprised of the following seven counties: Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble.
Since its’ inception, the MHAC: KIPDA region has been actively engaged in building sustainable collaborations to develop strategies, trainings and programs:
that, assist older adults experiencing behavioral health problems
that, enhance the skill sets of aging services providers
that, promote prevention and early intervention strategies
