The Stress Management Series will be continued in 2010 and will be completed in May 2010 (see 2009 for more information on our stress series)

MHAC will be participating in the Southeast Area Agency on Aging Conference. Deborah Rattle and Lori Paris will be presenting on coalition building and STD's in the elderly.  MHAC will have a booth and representatives will be present to discuss our coalition. The SEAA Conference will be September 26th-29th, 2010. 

MHAC will be a partner in Census 2010.  Our primary goal is education with the ultimate goal to ensure that as many older adults are counted for. 

MHAC has completed a resource manual in 2010.  The purpose of the manual would be to provide strength based education and understanding of diagnoses and resources within local community targeted to caregivers. There will be 13 subject matters and approximately 120 pages.  UofL students from the Gerontlolgy program at the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work will be involved in researching topics for the manual. 

Guardianship Presentation will be held by UofL  on April 22, 2010 at the Council on Developmental Disabilities from 3-5pm (4th and Oak St, Louisville)

Our next symposium will be held September 13, 2010 and will focus on Domestic Violence in the elderly.  Please check out our upcoming events for more information.   

MHAC is in process of creating a facebook page to network with other agencies and professionals throughout the country. 

A retreat is being planned for the members of the Mental Health and Aging Coalition in the fall. The purpose of the retreat is to look at future directions of the coalition.
